Talking points on Canada’s legislation to criminalise “conversion therapy”
On October 1, 2020, the federal government introduced legislation to criminalize “conversion therapy” in Canada with Bill C-6.
Proposed bans on conversion therapy will reduce the availability of psychological help for children, teens, and adults; negatively impact spiritual counselling, teaching, and mentoring on questions of identity and sexual ethics; and chill religious freedom. Read more in the attached document.
